Interview with
a Yogi
How long have you been practicing yoga?
Since
January 2005 -- it is the best!
If you only had one pose
to take to a desert island, what would it be?
Airplane.
If there was one pose you NEVER
had to do again, what would it be?
Shoulderstand.
What is your favorite dessert? Apple pie with
vanilla ice cream
What actor should play you in the film adaptation of your life?
Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music -- I love
children!
Why do you practice yoga?
First of all, I
love Carolyn! She is witty, intellectual, kind, fun ...
Secondly, I
have suffered from shoulder, neck and back pain for many years and
have needed surgery for ages -- I was told. While sitting in
my lovely designer gown at CMC in December 2004, I decided that
surgery and I did NOT get along well so I dressed, left my room and
walked home. The next day I took my CAT scans, which clearly
showed four herniated cervical discs, to Caroly and asked her if she
could help me. After several weeks of privates, I was well ...
no pain! As an extra bonus, my recurring sciatica was
eliminated, too.
Yoga is
fabulous. Make no mistake, though. Yoga is tough and a
real workout, but it makes you so much more flexible and feel so
refreshed and good without torturing yourself. It's a fun way
to exercise mind and body.
